How to Propose & Develop an AST Educational Activity

The information below is for people proposing an educational activity, and there are different instructions for the development of an AST-endorsed white paper, opinion paper, practice guidelines, etc. Please read the AST manuscripts policy to find out more, and email info@myAST.org with questions.

So, you have an idea for an educational activity for healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients or in transplantation or immunology research...now what?

Step 1 - See What's Already in the Works

Email AST Education Program Manager Brian Valeria at bvaleria@myAST.org. He will connect with the Education Committee about your idea.

Step 2 - Learn the Activity Proposal Process

Download this easy-to-follow Educational Activity Development guide that explains the steps of developing, proposing, and executing an educational activity. This ensures consistency across AST activities, avoids duplication of effort, and puts the AST Education Committee and its resources at your disposal.

Step 3 - Submit Your Activity

After you've read through the Educational Activity Development guide and your idea is ready to go, you can download the "EDU-520: Proposing an AST Educational Activity", which includes the Educational Activity Proposal Form. It was created in Microsoft Word so that the form fields expand to fit your text and so you can pass the document around to collaborators.

Step 4 - Got the Green Light? Let's Get to Work!

AST staff will notify you if your activity is approved, and at that time we'll work together to bring your idea to life. You can contact the AST National Office with any questions at info@myAST.org. The AST Education Committee and the Board of Directors play an active role in guiding activities to completion.
