Dean and University of Tennessee Health Science Center Distinguished Professor, College of Pharmacy. Founder and Executive Director of Medication Access Program. Appointed Commissioner to the State of Tennessee Commission on Education Recovery and Innovation.

Educational delivery systems and performance outcomes; health literacy; and health care disparities related to Star Ratings and medication compliance. Chair of the AST Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (to Life) Task Force; Chair of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacy Section of Educators Executive Committee; Board member of the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education.
What made you decide to work in transplantation?: 
I did a rotation in transplant during my residency and the rest was history. I fell in love instantly.
What do you find to be the most valuable aspect of your work?: 
Helping to improve human condition. Especially, helping to improve medication access.
How have you served AST?: 
I have been a member of AST for over two decades and have enjoyed being part of such a great and caring group.  I have served in many roles, for example, I have served as a COP member, meeting presenter, journal club presenter, abstract and journal reviewer, mentor, and more recently as Chair of the IDEAL Task Force.   I continue to value the relationships I have made over the years, and I look forward to growing with AST, facilitating greater relationships with its members and helping AST achieve its mission/vision. With that stated, I am enthusiastic about the work of the IDEAL Task Force and its awesome members.  I am fortunate to have the opportunity to work with such great people- they are focused, smart, energetic, and very nice; a wonderful team to help move the needle on inclusivity, diversity, and equity.
